Both Saturday and Sunday I’m going to get the chance to go up and fly. Saturday, Dana and I are going to do some review stuff and try and pound out some more landings. Hopefully we’ll get a crosswind to do some crosswind landings. That should be excited. Then on Sunday, I’ll be going up with another instructor for a stage check. This is a good opportunity to receive some constructive criticism from someone else and to make sure Dana’s doing his job. I’m guessing Sunday will be a lot of review stuff too. I’ll post when I get the chance. Thanks for reading!!!

P.S: I’ll tell everyone the surprise on Monday. It’s good. Trust me

As you all know, I am to the point in my training where I can preflight the plane all by myself now. The other day, I was thinking “what happens if the checklist isn’t in the plane?” I’ve preflighted before, but not enough to have memorized all of it. Plus I would need all of the emergency procedures. This prompted me to get myself a checklist in case the one in the plane ever goes missing. Rather than buying one, however, I went to my handy 152 information manual, and created my own out of the information given there. I also added a few other things like V-speeds and the SAFETY passenger brief. Instead of keeping it to myself, I think it would be a good idea to let everyone use it.The actual checklist is meant to be printed on legal size paper and folded in half. Good luck trying to read it on a standard piece of paper. I’ll post it in two file formats: pdf if you want to straight print it, or Excel if you would like to edit some of it. Thanks for reading and I hope this proves useful to everyone!

God do I love flying. I got the opportunity to go up today despite a tight work schedule. That is one thing I really love about flying at Westosha: their flexibility. I talked to Dana last night about flying and he said that he would keep a slot open for me if I got the opportunity to go flying. Luckily, work wasn’t too bad so I had some extra time. I got to the airport, preflighted the plane, then returned to the flight office to brief on the days flight. Today, despite my original thought, was all about stalls. We focused on the most common situations where stalls occur (as you probably can guess, most stalls occur in the traffic pattern). We went over each type of stall and how to recover from them.

Hey everyone. Just wanted to let everyone know that I’m going to be taking my 10th lesson tomorrow afternoon! I’m pretty excited. As far as what we’ll be working on I’m not 100% sure. It will probably be landings like last time. Maybe we’ll do crosswind landings and takeoffs! We’ll find out for sure tomorrow. Like always, I’ll do a write up of the lesson either that night or the following morning. Thanks for reading and have a happy turkey day!!!

My lesson Sunday started out awesome and ended spectacular. I would have to say it was best lesson so far. You might want to take a seat for this one; maybe grab some refreshments. This is one aviation journey of many to come that is well worth reading. Work started a little later that Sunday so I had the opportunity to fly a little later in the day. I left the house at 9:00 for my 10:00 lesson at Westosha. I arrived at the airport and met Dana. Instead of taking out N25351 like we usually do, we took out N64920.
